I was super excited when the idea of producing a documentary was brought up. I immediately put myself forward to lead the creative process as I personally had more experience in filmmaking– but mostly I am super passionate about films! Combine that with the aspect of brand design, and it was the perfect project for me.

In terms of production, I directed the photography of the interviews and created shot lists for the team to follow if I wasn't there, but I was present most of the time to get the best angles with the equipment we had.

In post-production, I really wanted to prove myself, so I taught myself motion graphics in Adobe AfterEffects, with tutorials on YouTube. Everything animated, including the entire 2:48 minute introduction, was manually created by myself and I am so proud of what I was able to achieve.

I also created the logo and overall identity for the documentary. This helped when making the film as I could ensure there was a synergy between the film and the supporting content that would go out on social media and in publications.
